Free dialogue: Promoting partnerships and concrete initiatives for enhancing the creative economy in Africa

The dialogue will provide a platform for business partnerships, investment and international cooperation, with a view to strengthening the capacities and competitiveness of Africa’s creative products and services in global markets.

Key Issues

The event is being organized around UNCTAD's "Creative Africa Initiative" as a tool to promote concrete deliverables during and after the conference.

Participants will include African artists, creative entrepreneurs, and representatives from African institutions, federations, coalitions and civil society.

Representatives from the public and private sector within the African Union as well as from partner countries are welcome to join the free dialogue.

Deliverables:

Creative Africa will mark the starting point of a process. It will pave the way for concrete projects and initiatives during and after UNCTAD XII.

The dialogue is expected to generate invitations for performances and exhibitions, promote trade opportunities, forging public-private partnerships, encourage co-productions and target investments, facilitate networking and gain support for technical cooperation projects.
