Faire des normes de durabilité un outil de soutien du commerce agricole et du développement

Des experts analyseront l'impact des normes de durabilité sur les petites exploitations agricoles et tenteront de définir des stratégies destinées à leur permettre de tirer au maximum parti de ces normes et d'en réduire le coût au minimum.

Présentations

  • The Hon. Dr. Mary Nagu, Minister for Industries Trade and Marketing, United Republic of Tanzania will present the key findings and recommendations of the pre-UNCTAD XII event on Making Sustainability Standards Work for Small-scale Farmers, which was held 7-9 April 2008in Arusha, United Republic of Tanzania.
  • The Hon. E A Debrah, Minister of Food and Agriculture of Ghana will launch the book on Private-sector Standards and National Schemes for Good Agricultural Practices - Implications for Exports of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables from sub-Saharan Africa: Experiences of Ghana, Kenya and Uganda.
  • The Hon. Nelson Gaggawala, Minister of State for Trade, Uganda will launch the monograph on Best Practices for Organic Policy - What Developing Country Governments Can Do to Promote the Organic Agriculture Sector, and highlight the work of the UNEP-UNCTAD Capacity Building Task Force on Trade, Environment and Development (CBTF) on organic agriculture in East Africa.
  • The Hon. Dr. Hans Winkler, State Secretary for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria and the honourable Dr. Supachai Panitchpakdi, Secretary-General of UNCTAD will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Promoting Production and Trading Opportunities for Organic Agricultural Products: A Tool for Poverty Reduction and Environmental Protection in East Africa
