The twelfth ministerial conference of UNCTADUNCTAD XII will be held in Accra, Ghana, 20-25 April 2008. Meeting every four years to set the organization's mandate and work priorities, Ministerial conferences are UNCTAD's highest decision-making body. UNCTAD Ministerial conferences also serve an important political function: allowing intergovernmental consensus building regarding the state of the world economy and development policies. UNCTAD's 192 member countries have chosen the following topics as the focus of the organization's quadrennial conference: Addressing the opportunities and challenges of globalization for development
